guess who's back

..it's me! Okay, well I'm sort of back. I'm so tired and have so many things rattling around in my head I just can't begin to get them all straight. Looking back I see I was so busy last week I had nothing posted about Vegas. Now I'm back from Philadelphia and need to run down on it too. If you couldn't guess, prepare for a runnnnnnnnnnnndowwwwwwwwwwwn bullet-point style

Vegas

  • eh, where to start...
  • LONG flight
  • ...made longer by listening about makeup from a sales rep on the way there for a conference
  • ......when I really wanted to sleep
  • ............which I didn't get to do
  • ........................for TWENTY TWO hours straight
  • Meeting went well
  • EJ and the piano were AMAZING--which I'm sure people caught on twitter
  • got into ZERO trouble while out there
  • (pause for people to recover)
  • didn't get to meet up with es :(
  • now will have to make a trip to the island
  • did I mention not getting into any trouble?!
The few days (aka 2 days) between trips
  • INSANITY
  • FURY
  • F WORK
  • F WORD(s)
  • applied for a lateral move
  • didn't get things done
  • things needed done
  • didn't get a ton of help in that aspect
  • quite possibly seriously pissed off my supervisor
  • and..meh lol...not sure I care about the above
and Philadelphia
  • in west philadelphia born and...
  • ....raised...
  • ....on the playground is where...
  • Okay, I may never stop with that song
  • SO
  • MUCH
  • TROUBLE
  • philadelphia definitely isn't my favorite city I've been to
  • fun was had
  • ...and oh so much trouble
  • and a HUGE life changing event
  • ...though I'm not saying it's my life I'm referring to ;)
  • long drive there
  • shorter drive back
  • belle and I may be on the fbi's most wanted list by getting lost
  • fun.was.had. :)
  • oh, and tripped and fell and busted up my knee
  • and my other knee
  • and the tops of my feet
  • and my right ankle as my mom pointed out
  • ...all will heal
  • ......hopefully
Okay, I know that's seriously a f'ton less than everyone was hoping for but it's all I've got. I'm living in a state of exhaustion and trying to straighten things out in my head. I may never succeed in that aspect. I hope everyone is great and I've missed you all...promise :)

the heat between me and you

Whew, is anyone else exhausted already and it's just the beginning of the week? This weekend was a crazy amount of fun and being busy. Bro's housewarming party was beyond a success.
Almost 30 people were there at one time which is crazy for parties around here. I haven't laughed so hard in forever. I do believe the moment of the night was when JG raised one hand above his head and screamed "AAAHHH cheetaaaa girlls!!!". It was out of no where and inspired the "AAHHH (insert name here)" whenever anyone walked in the house.

Saturday was Eric's going away party. To be honest, I went in with a bad attitude. There were some people I didn't really want to run in to that were a risk of showing up. As soon as most of us got there, though, I proclaimed we should all act as dumb as possible all night...and we did in rare form. There are a couple of pictures floating around out there that I hope never really make it to the internet but if they do I'll make sure to pass them along here. It ended up being an amazing time. I think Eric had a good time which is all that really matters. He'll be gone for...I think the way it works...10 months at the most from today? I swear I listen when he talks but I just don't grasp some of the things he says. It was so nice to have things be so great before he left but today there's this deep sadness right at the edge of my mind threatening to burst loose. Knowing one of your best friends will basically be out of your life for so long causes this ache to start gently then swell until your ears ache then go back to a dull ache again. I'm keeping things in perspective, though, because this is a much shorter time then it used to be he could be gone. I can still email him about my retarded life lol.

Sunday we had family dinner (at 2..so is that lunch?). It was nice too though my body was about wore out from all the late nights of the weekend. I ended up at my brother's house making dinner for him and a friend until 11 last night then came home and crashed.

What does this action filled weekend mean? I had NO time to do anything to get ready to go to Vegas. Luckily I put in to have today off so I've had the entire day to get ready. Now, have I done much of anything? Heck no! I just got done packing and straightening up the house some so my brother doesn't scream in terror when he comes in to feed the cats. Mom is keeping the dog. I'm leaving right after class tomorrow evening so this will probably be the last post before I'm gone to Vegas. Since I'm planning some hardcore touristy things I don't think I'll post while I'm gone but who knows--I might.

In case I'm gone a week, y'all be good. Watch the news for a crazy wv girl showing Vegas the true meaning of "Sin City" and pray for poor Es who is going to meet up with me while I'm there!

is it meant to be?

Wow things are crazy busy in my world right now. Bro is having a house warming tonight, Eric is having his gone for a year or so party Saturday, I've got to pack and get my house clean on Sunday OH and there's Easter dinner with the family that day too. It exhaust me just to read all of it! In good news, I went to bed at like 9:30 last night and slept like the dead. If it weren't for Daisy barking at me because she can't get in the bed unless she really tries this morning I don't know when I would have woke up seeing as how my phone, which I use for an alarm, was turned off. I don't know how I managed that one. I guess maybe it was my subconscious reasoning that I needed sleep and nothing anyone needed could be that important.

AHHHHHH I don't even know how far away Vegas is now! I'm so excited it's hard to work! Or sit still. Or do anything other than surf web sites to see what all I can fit into a short amount of time.

Okay, I have a ton of work to get done today and have to leave on time so here's a forward I got today that cracked me up. Y'all have a great weekend. OH and in case I don't show back up here before I leave, make sure to follow me on Twitter. I'll be doing Vegas updates from there!

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats : The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack.. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however.. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.

(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.

(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.

(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don't ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don't smoke or drink,

(7) don't want to wear your clothes,

(8) don't have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and

(10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children

dangerous living

Thanks for all the great suggestions for things I should do in Vegas. Now on to what I think will be a much more amusing subject...

Things I shouldn't do in Vegas

  1. Get married
  2. Get killed CSI style
  3. Trying to find the CSI Vegas crew so I can get married to Nick Stokes (seriously man..grr)
  4. Find an Elvis to come to all work events with me then claim I'm just getting into the spirit of things
  5. Get knocked up (what happens in vegas may stay in vegas but I'm pretty sure they have a no return policy on babies)
Suggestions in comments!

sparkling lightsss

Okay, so it's just a little over a week until I got to Vegas. To get myself fully in the spirit, I'm going to combine a few lists that may just amuse me but they might amuse you guys too. Feel free to contribute in comments.

Things I Should Do While in Vegas!

  1. Watch the fountain show
  2. Meet up with Es for a drink
  3. Take obnoxious tourist pictures in front of every tourist attraction
  4. Do something worthy of saying "what happens in vegas..."
The weekend was fine. I'm in a good mood today. Making food for a bake sale after work. I hope everyone is awesome!

wake me up (part 2)

I went to bed early last night and slept until I had to start working today. I don't know what my problem is...I'm taking vitamins and all. If I'm still feeling like this next week I might go to the doctor. I shouldn't feel this rundown all the time.

I'm out of the office today so here's one for y'all to enjoy.

Everyone have a great weekend. I'm sure as hell going to try...

wake me up

I'm exhausted. There's really no other way to put it. I sleep and sleep and yet can't seem to feel rested. It could be all the completely insane dreams I've been having lately. I can't really say they're insane--I don't know what to blame them on. I've been having these intense dreams about all these different men in my life. They don't have to be a particularly guy or even one I know that well. Last night I dreamed about a guy in my group in class. We were sitting around "smoking" (which I don't do) and laughing at pink elephants. I woke up feeling way out of it but fell back to sleep pretty quickly (it was probably all that "smoking" i did in my dream).

It seemed like immediately that I fell into a hot, steamy dream with someone that I told myself I need to stop having those dreams about. Is that like some weird reverse psychology I have kicking with myself--don't do it susan, don't do it...WHAM dream. I woke up tangled in my sheets, heart pounding. It was such an amazing dream, though, it was obvious to me when I woke up. How can I say this with confidence? I didn't wake up reaching out for anyone. It was just a good ol', hard core hook up dream. There is no way in hell the person in my dream could live up to, well, my dream. It was a good way to spend the night tossing and turning, though.

These dreams (go on when I close my eyes...) (how I love heart) (focus susan)...are making me have problems focusing. I'm tired an my emotions are running on high. I nearly did something incredibly drastic regarding my job last night fueled off emotions. (Speaking of jobs, here's an interesting article Jolly Green sent me)

All's well in my world again now though, kiddies, so no worries. The week is almost done. Thank..god.

and you're on your way

As if the Vegas trip wasn't already blowing my mind with excitement, it now appears I just might be able to meet up with my very favorite Es! (insert happy dance here) It's going to be a crazy trip but I'm pretty sure if the cosmos decided we were both supposed to be in Vegas at the same time a drink (or 10) must be had. Everyone at work loves the dress that mom and I picked out. I actually drug myself into the incredibly bright coffin (aka tanning bed) yesterday. Today I'm debating over if I'm "burned" or if my skin is supposed to feel slightly cooked. Lil' Bit said she thought I'd be fine to tan today but I really don't want to get burned. Ugh, I don't know. This is one of those girly things I've never been really into so have about zero knowledge on. I should ask Belle--she'd know if I'm going to end up extra crispy if I go today.

Other than Vegas and preparing for Vegas (and by preparing I mean trying to get everything at work a full week ahead) there's really not a ton going on in my life. Tonight in one of my classes we're doing an "Amazing Race" which promises to be interesting since we have to have a video camera. I'm hoping it stops raining because we have to drive for this venture and I'm the driver and driving+rain+dark=sucks.

(pause for irresistible urge to scratch my incredibly itchy body)

Anyway, what's going on in your life?
