barely getting by

"You just have to win, don't you?" VoR said while we were on the way to Gator's house. If it'd been anyone else it probably would have pissed me off. Being VoR, however, I knew what he was saying wasn't out of meanness or anything else. He was just stating what he saw as a fact and I couldn't argue. I do, quite often, just have to win. It's as if I feel someone has got something over on me and I have to rectify the situation. I guess somewhere in my brain that's how I felt/feel about Gator. To fully explain how this came about I'm going to have to go back in the evening (since this was around 4 in the morning when VoR made this statement) and review.

I had an excellent time at bingo! The ladies were so nice and I actually won some money ($17.50, to be exact). The lady next to me won $200 in the last game and she held my hand when the last ball was called. It was so exciting. They invited me to go play with them on Monday (tonight) but I have other plans (which will follow). I fully intend to go to bingo again this coming Friday. After bingo and me having to make a side trip to work (long, annoying story), VoR and I ended up at the Valley. Before I could even get a beer in my hand, Gator was up in my face asking what I was doing in "his part of town".

Let's pause for a moment to let everyone know I rolled my eyes so hard I seriously thought I went blind. I may have moved but he could live there 20 years and it'd still be MY town. Those words were pretty much exactly what I told him. I'm not sure exactly how much I've went into regarding the whole Gator thing but there was a point and time when I was pretty into him. I felt incredibly stupid afterwards and after the crazy night at his house where I was sure I was going to die I pretty much started avoiding him. We're "friends" on facebook but we never really talk. Anyway, as the night progressed I was being actively followed around by him. He drug me out to the dance floor a couple of times. He asked me to come watch the race at his house on Sunday and after I told him I had plans he asked me if my friend M was free. Again, I rolled my eyes, pointed out she'd have to bring her 2 kids and walked away.

I really can't explain how the rest of the night went. There were a lot of jello shots. VoR and I ended up at Gator's house with a sign. I ended up telling Gator I wasn't looking for random play and that he needed to go on. He asked if I'd go see a movie with him on Monday (up) and I figured he was too drunk to remember asking me.

I figured wrong.

Thus, tonight I'm going out with Gator. I don't even know why. I think we're just going to watch the movie then I'm going to go drink to wash the memory of me being a nitwit from my mind. I mean...I know I have to do something pretty stupid about once every 2 months to keep me on my toes but bringing Gator back into the equation wasn't exactly what I had planned.

...at least the movie's supposed to be good.
